The Loggia del Capitaniato

The Loggia del Capitaniato, traditional symbol of Vicenza's communal government, was constructed on the site of an earlier building according to Palladio's designs in 1571–72. The present volume thoroughly discusses the various problems concerning the previous building, the Palladian designs, and the entire sculpted and painted decoration.
