Documents the low-fired utilitarian ware made over an 18-county area from New York to the Maryland border. An attempt is made not only to locate the potters and their shops, but to learn about those craftsmen and the nature of their pot making. A master index to nearly 600 red earthenware potters is included, as are kiln diagrams, old photos of potters at work, ads, and a list of major redware collections. The centerfold is in full color.
