Book History is the annual journal of the Society for the Historyof Authorship, Reading and Publishing, Inc. (SHARP).
Book History is devoted to every aspect of the history of thebook, broadly defined as the history of the creation, dissemination,and the reception of script and print. Ezra Greenspan is Professor of English at the University of South Carolina. Among his other publications is George Palmer Putnam: Representative American Publisher (Penn State, 2000).
Jonathan Rose is Professor of History and Director of the Graduate Program in Book History at Drew University. He was the founding president of the Society for the History of Authorship, Reading and Publishing. He is the editor of The Holocaust and the Book: Destruction and Preservation (2001) and the author of The Intellectual Life of the British Working Classes (2001).
