As we begin 2022, we here at PSU Press are pleased to be able to say that the Eisenbrauns imprint continues to play a vital and growing role in advancing the scholarly discourse on the ancient Near East, Semitic linguistics and languages, biblical studies, and related disciplines. We’ve listed some of the highlights from last year below, and we’re eager to see what this year brings.
—Patrick Alexander, director, PSU Press
We published twenty titles this year, including a monumental volume on archaeological excavations in the City of David, Jerusalem, an engrossing biography of archaeologist Seymour “Sy” Gitin, an expanded English translation of Tropper’s Classical Ethiopic and Douglas R. Frayne and Johanna H. Stuckey’s A Handbook of Gods and Goddesses of the Ancient Near East.

PSU Press Presents, a monthly virtual event series featuring authors of new and recent books in conversation with each other, hosted authors of Eisenbrauns books in March and November. Learn more about the series and find links to recordings here.
Between virtual exhibits hosted on our website, collaborations with Scholar’s Choice, and participation in conferences with organizations such as the Rencontre Assyriologique Internationale and ASOR, our books were well represented around the globe!
Look for us in 2022 at the American Oriental Society conference, and many more.
